MLBB means Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
MOONTON describes Mobile Legends: Bang Bang as a five-versus-five game combining teamwork and strategy. The full title matters because related Mobile Legends products exist. This page concerns MLBB rather than treating every game using that brand as the same esports title.
League name, region and season
MOONTON’s MPL Philippines Season 16 announcement illustrates a league identified by both region and season. A short MPL label is therefore incomplete event context. That 2025 announcement is a historical example, not a current fixture list or a statement of current team membership.
From individual games to a series result
12Play mentions Mobile Legends in its esports material. A best-of format describes how many individual games are needed to decide a series. In a best-of-five example, three wins are required; the series can end before all five games are played. Verify the announced format rather than inferring it from the game title or a previous season.
Quick reference
- MLBB
- The abbreviation for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Retain it with the full name to distinguish the title from related Mobile Legends products.
- MPL
- A professional-league label that needs regional and seasonal context. The historical Philippines source here is not a worldwide fixture schedule.
- Game / series
- An individual game contributes one result to a series. A best-of-five example ends when one team has three wins, possibly after only three games.
- Stage
- Group play and later rounds may use different formats. The competition name alone may therefore be insufficient to identify the series length.

Common question
Do all MLBB competitions use the same series length?
No single format is established by the title alone. The tournament and stage rules determine the length; best-of examples here are explanatory.
